Lester Merle Barner was born on Saturday, 22 October 1898 at Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Erasmus Dervin Barner and Rebecca Jane Kinan. Lester married, at the age of 19 Hazel Luna Raynard, age 20, daughter of William C. Raynard and Ethel E. Kerfort, on Wednesday, 27 March 1918 at Stapleton, Logan County, Nebraska. He died on Friday, 28 October 1983 at the age of 85 years and 6 days at Post Falls, Kootenai County, Idaho. He was buried at Moscow City Cemetery, Moscow, Latah County, Idaho.
