Marjie May Barner was born on Thursday, 30 November 1911 at Parkston, Hutchinson County, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Boston Elmer Barner and Fannie May Howard. Marjie married (1), at the age of 17 Clifford Oscar Hill, age 20 on Thursday, 4 July 1929. Marjie married (2), at the age of 34 William Orr Shepherd on Monday, 4 November 1946 at Winnemucca, Humboldt County, Nevada. She died on Saturday, 15 July 1995 at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 15 days at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa. She was buried at Sixteen Cemetery, Thornburg, Keokuk County, Iowa.
