Robert LeRoy Barner was born on Friday, 19 September 1947 at Modesto, Stanislaus County, California. He was the son of Clinton Keith Barner and Helen Kathleen Wilson. Robert married (1), at the age of 20 Karen Patricia McCarthy White on Tuesday, 13 August 1968 at Modesto, California. He and Karen were divorced circa 1972. Robert married (2), at the age of 27 Sandra Colleen Lyons on Sunday, 29 September 1974 at Flagler, Flagler County, Florida. He and Sandra were divorced on 27 November 1997. He died due to contracting a Staff infection that attacked an artificial valve in his heart on Thursday, 11 January 2001 at the age of 53 years, 3 months and 23 days. He was buried at Section C-6 Site 385, at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Gustine, Merced County, California.
