Margaret Alice Barner was born on Wednesday, 12 April 1893 at Pfoutz Valley, Perry County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Jacob Barner Jr. and Margaret Alice Deckard. Her nickname was Maggie. Margaret married, at the age of 19 Elmer William Lyter, age 18, son of William Henry Lyter and Mariah Agnes Barner, on Saturday, 25 May 1912 at Liverpool, Perry County, Pennsylvania. In addition to being husband and wife, Margaret and Elmer were also third cousins one time removed. She died on Tuesday, 28 July 1953 at the age of 60 years, 3 months and 16 days. She was buried at Barner's (Saint John's) Lutheran Church Cemetery, Liverpool RD 1, Perry County, Pennsylvania.
