Gertrude Pearl Barner was born on Monday, 29 December 1890 at Pfoutz Valley, Perry County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Jacob Barner Jr. and Margaret Alice Deckard. She went by Pearl. Gertrude married, at the age of 18 Milton Gelnett, age 20 on Saturday, 10 July 1909 at Liverpool, Perry County, Pennsylvania. She died on Saturday, 17 September 1983 at the age of 92 years, 8 months and 19 days at Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield, Centre Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania. She was buried at Barner's (Saint John's) Lutheran Church Cemetery, Liverpool RD 1, Perry County, Pennsylvania.
