     Samuel C. Wilt was born on Monday, 17 October 1836 at Sugar Creek Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of George Wilt and Mary Wiker. Samuel married, at the age of 26 Elizabeth Crispen, daughter of William Crispen and Sarah McClain, on Thursday, 24 September 1863 at Venango County, Pennsylvania. He died on Sunday, 11 March 1917 at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 22 days at Mercer County, Pennsylvania. He was buried on Tuesday, 13 March 1917 at Shenango Valley Cemetery, Greenville, Hempfield Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania.
