     David Ulsh was born on Tuesday, 4 February 1845 at Claridon Township, Marion County, Ohio. He was the son of Johann George Ulsh and Catherine Bunn. David married, at the age of 34 Viola Louisa Thomas, age 23, daughter of Franklin Thomas and Caroline Pittman, on Wednesday, 31 December 1879 at Marion County, Ohio. He died on Tuesday, 18 October 1904 at the age of 59 years, 8 months and 14 days at Claridon Township, Ohio.
