Charles Lloyd Barner was born on Sunday, 26 July 1896 at Tylersville, Logan Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of William Lohr Barner and Barbara Anna Bierly. Charles married, at the age of 19 Fairy Gay Shaffer, age 21, daughter of Jeremiah Elsway Shaffer and Mary Adiana Frantz, on Thursday, 23 March 1916 at Loganton, Greene Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. He died on Saturday, 29 April 1972 at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 3 days at Lock Haven Hospital, Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. He was buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Cedar Hill, Lamar Township (near Mill Hall), Clinton County, Pennsylvania.
