Daniel Herman Barner was born on Monday, 7 April 1884 at Shippensburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. He went by Herman. He was the son of Henry Curtis Barner and Mariah Alice McKenzie. Daniel married (1) Eleanor Unger in 1906. He was a partner of Ethel Catherine Provard and began living with her about 1936 but did not marry her. He died on Monday, 14 August 1967 at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 7 days at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland.
