Samuel Kerstetter was born on Saturday, 30 November 1799 at Miles Township (now Logan Township), Clinton County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Rudolph Kerstetter. Samuel married Catharine Barner, daughter of Henry Barner and Susanna Bunce, circa 1821. He died on Monday, 9 January 1832 at the age of 32 years, 1 month and 10 days. He was buried at Shracktown Cemetery, Loganton, Greene Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania.
