     Sylvester Allen Haagen was born on Wednesday, 21 January 1914 at Beech Creek Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of William Washington Haagen and Eva Barbara Mayes. Sylvester married, at the age of 28 Edith Burrell on Monday, 19 October 1942. He died on Tuesday, 18 March 1997 at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 25 days.
