Henry L. Barner was born on Sunday, 11 February 1827 at Liverpool, Perry County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of George Barner and Lydia Lahr. Henry married (1) Barbara Leiter, daughter of Christian Leiter and Barbara Page. Henry married (2), at the age of 25 Maria Went, age 20, daughter of George Went and Jane [?], on Thursday, 22 April 1852. He died on Wednesday, 10 April 1901 at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 30 days at Susquehanna Township, Juniata County, Pennsylvania. He was buried at Barner's (Saint John's) Lutheran Church Cemetery, Liverpool RD 1, Perry County, Pennsylvania.
