     William Ray Witmer was born on Friday, 27 February 1914 at Pennsylvania. He was the son of William Henry Witmer and Ida Alice Clemens. William married, at the age of 24 Mildred Olive Gelnett, age 24, daughter of Milton Gelnett and Gertrude Pearl Barner, on Saturday, 26 March 1938. In addition to being husband and wife, William and Mildred were also fourth cousins. He died on Thursday, 19 January 1978 at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 23 days. He was buried at Barner's (Saint John's) Lutheran Church Cemetery, Liverpool RD 1, Perry County, Pennsylvania.
