     George Washington Barner was born on Thursday, 23 December 1852 at Carroll, Greene Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Henry Barner and Catharine Kern. George married, at the age of 29 Chestie Ann Gramly, age 18, daughter of George Gramly, on Sunday, 24 September 1882. He died on Tuesday, 25 November 1919 at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 2 days. He was buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Cedar Hill, Lamar Township (near Mill Hall), Clinton County, Pennsylvania.
