     Florence Viola Carpenter was born on Tuesday, 28 May 1901 at Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Grant Carpenter and Kathryn Hauser. Florence married Walter Russell Barner, son of George Nathaniel Jacob Barner and Odessa Viola Brungard. She died after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage at her home at 11 a.m. on Friday, 6 October 1972 at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 8 days at Lock Haven Hospital, Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania, She had been failing in health since stricken with a first cerebral hemorrhage three years earlier. She was buried on Monday, 9 October 1972 at Mount Bethel Cemetery, Lamar, Potter Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania.
