Catharine Anna Barner was born on Thursday, 15 February 1849 at Greene Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Henry Barner and Catharine Kern. Catharine married, at the age of 20 John Douty Jr., age 19, son of John Adam Douty and Barbara Brungart, on Sunday, 2 May 1869. In addition to being husband and wife, Catharine and John were also first cousins once removed. She died on Monday, 28 December 1925 at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 13 days at Muncy, Muncy Creek Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. She was buried at Muncy Cemetery, Muncy, Muncy Creek Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
