     Sylvia Catharine Stroupe was born on Monday, 21 April 1884 at Millerstown RD2, Greenwood Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of George D. Stroupe and Catherine Long. Sylvia married, at the age of 27 John Dervin Barner, age 29, son of George L. Barner and Mary Maria Miller, on Thursday, 6 July 1911. She died on Friday, 12 July 1974 at the age of 90 years, 2 months and 21 days at Susquehanna Township, Juniata County, Pennsylvania. She was buried at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery -- Strawsers Church Cemetery, Oriental, Susquehanna Township, Juniata County, Pennsylvania.
