     George Stewart Barner was born on Saturday, 26 October 1878 at Shippensburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of John L. Barner and Mary Ella Long. George married, at the age of 28 Romayne Hertzler Brenneman Strickler, age 22, daughter of Lemuel Todd Brenneman and Florence Cassel Hertzler, on Tuesday, 30 October 1906 at Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. He died due to Uremia on Wednesday, 10 July 1935 at the age of 56 years, 8 months and 14 days at Webster City, Hamilton County, Iowa. He was buried at Shippensburg, Pennsylvania.
