Horace Colder Barner was born on Sunday, 6 August 1865 at Oriental, Susquehanna Township, Juniata County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of George L. Barner and Mary Maria Miller. Horace married (1), at the age of 21 Ida May Sechrist, age 20 on Sunday, 7 November 1886. Horace married (2), at the age of 36 Mary Agnes Clugston, age 31 on Tuesday, 22 October 1901. He died on Sunday, 24 August 1952 at the age of 87 years and 18 days at Shippensburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
