Emma Minerva Straup was born in 1873 at German Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana. She was the daughter of Daniel B. Stroup and Susannah Ann Barner. Emma married Leonard C. Lessenich on Tuesday, 8 September 1896 at St. Joseph County, Indiana, by John D. Bates, Justice of the Peace. She died at Sioux City, Woodbury County, Iowa.
