     John S. Barner was born on Friday, 12 March 1869 at Juniata County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Absalom L. Barner and Susan Stroup. John married (1) Daisey Ellen Caum Snyder, daughter of Charles Snyder. John married (2) Amelia Snyder. John married (3), at the age of 51 Barrie Ellen (Ochler) Mitchell, age 45, daughter of Christian Mitchell and Elizabeth Gunslad, on Sunday, 30 January 1921. He died on Monday, 6 September 1937 at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 25 days at Liverpool, Perry County, Pennsylvania. He was buried on Thursday, 9 September 1937 at Barner's (Saint John's) Lutheran Church Cemetery, Liverpool RD 1, Perry County, Pennsylvania.
