     Arthur Curtis Knauff was born on Friday, 12 April 1878 at Sugar Valley, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of William Nelson Knauff and Mary Alice Barner. Arthur married, at the age of 30 Mary Colista Bickell, age 22, daughter of Joseph Marshall Bickell and Cora E. Merrell, on Friday, 29 May 1908 at Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, by the Rev. E. H. Witman. He died on Monday, 11 November 1935 at the age of 57 years, 6 months and 30 days at Oakland, Alameda County, California.
