Ray J. Barner was born on Wednesday, 12 November 1884 at Belle Plaine, Sumner County, Kansas. He was the son of Abraham Lincoln Barner and Laura Alice Cox. Ray married, at the age of 22 Mattie Beulah Richardson, age 21, daughter of Andrew J. Richardson and Ada Ann Martin, on Monday, 19 November 1906. He died on Saturday, 27 October 1951 at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 15 days at Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico. He was buried in section J, lot 103, plot 1, at Belle Plaine Cemetery, Belle Plaine, Sumner County, Kansas.
