Emma Dietz was born on Friday, 29 October 1869 at Knousetown, Monroe Township, Juniata County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of George Dietz and Mary Ann Keisling. Emma married Collinson Barner, son of Absalom L. Barner and Susan Stroup, in 1889 at Saint Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She died on Friday, 30 October 1936 at the age of 67 years and 1 day at Greenwood Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania. She was buried at Riverview Cemetery, Millerstown, Greenwood Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania.
