Edward Hayes Barner was born on Thursday, 15 March 1877 at Antes Fort, Nippenose Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Henry Barner and Mary Ann Gussler. Edward married, at the age of 24 Marie Belle Croyle, age 22, daughter of John C. T. Croyle and Amandaelectra E. Ruhle, on Tuesday, 2 July 1901 at Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, by a Lutheran Minister. He died from Lobar Pneumonia on Saturday, 25 January 1936 at the age of 58 years, 10 months and 10 days at his home at South Avis, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was buried on Wednesday, 29 January 1936 at Jersey Shore Cemetery, Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
