Gene Roberts was born on Monday, 1 January 1906 at Salem Ridge area, Webster, Burnett County, Wisconsin. He was the son of John W. Roberts and Sara Elizabeth Fish. Gene married, at the age of 32 Catherine Marie Lontz, age 45, daughter of William Jerome Lontz and Catharine Marie Barner, on Friday, 25 November 1938 at Elkader, Clayton County, Iowa. He died due to a heart attack on Thursday, 18 June 1970 at the age of 64 years, 5 months and 17 days at Vernon County, Wisconsin. He was buried at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Hillsboro, Vernon County, Wisconsin.
