     Barner Schumann Swartz was born on Thursday, 4 September 1919 near Richfield, Juniata County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Banks Leister Swartz and Dora Ann Barner. Barner married, at the age of 22 Wilma Jean Bitting, daughter of William Henry Bitting and Jennie Eve Dimm, on Thursday, 4 June 1942. He died on Thursday, 10 April 2008 at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 6 days at his home on Millerstown, Greenwood Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania.
