Hazel Luna Raynard was born on Friday, 7 May 1897 at Carns, Keya Paha County, Nebraska. She was the daughter of William C. Raynard and Ethel E. Kerfort. Hazel married, at the age of 20 Lester Merle Barner, age 19, son of Erasmus Dervin Barner and Rebecca Jane Kinan, on Wednesday, 27 March 1918 at Stapleton, Logan County, Nebraska. She died due to biliary cirrhosis [a form of liver disease] on Sunday, 15 November 1959 at the age of 62 years, 6 months and 8 days at Caldwell Memorial Hospital, Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho. She was buried at Moscow City Cemetery, Moscow, Latah County, Idaho.
