     Merril Welshans was born on Saturday, 30 August 1924 at Rauchtown, Crawford Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Frank Harrison Welshans and Ida Ellen Gamble. Merril married, at the age of 32 Mary Ann Wagner on Thursday, 7 March 1957. He died in his home at 8246 State Route 44 Highway, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, 28 June 2011 at the age of 86 years, 9 months and 29 days. He was buried on Friday, 1 July 2011 at Oval Cemetery, Oval, Limestone Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
