     Malvern John Barner was born on Monday, 28 March 1921 at McAllisterville, Fayette Township, Juniata County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Elmer Newton Barner and Blanche Ludella Basom. His nickname was Slim. Malvern married, at the age of 21 Arlene Lottie Swartz, age 17, daughter of J. Domer Swartz and Dorothy Martin, on Friday, 17 July 1942. He died on Wednesday, 24 February 1999 at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 27 days at Ohesson Manor, Lewistown, South Derry Township, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. He was buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mifflintown, Fermanagh Township, Juniata County, Pennsylvania.
