Charles Raymond Barner was born on Friday, 24 January 1902 at Shamokin, Coal Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Henry Edward Barner and Priscilla Elizabeth Uplinger. Charles married Orpha Mae Shaffer, daughter of Ammon Shaffer and Cottie Holtzapple. He died on Monday, 3 February 1986 at the age of 84 years and 10 days at Highspire, Lower Swatara Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
