John Kepner was born on Monday, 25 June 1804. He was the son of John Jacob Kepner and Anna Maria Gross. John married Sarah Barner, daughter of George Barner and Maria Dups. He died on Friday, 1 February 1895 at the age of 90 years, 7 months and 7 days. He was buried at Messiah Church Cemetery, Hunter Valley, Buffalo Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania.
