Opal May Kerns was born on Friday, 21 February 1902 at Macksburg, Madison County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Francis Albert Kerns and Alma Alice Cooper. Opal married (1), at the age of 16 Everret E. Eakes, age 16, son of Elmer Eakes and Myrtle Forte, on Friday, 31 January 1919. She and Everret were divorced in 1924. Opal married (2) Robert Chase Fisk. She and Robert were divorced. Opal married (3) Leroy Smythe in 1943. She died on Friday, 24 February 1989 at the age of 87 years and 3 days.
