Amanda Catharine Barner was born on Saturday, 19 July 1862 at Lamar, Potter Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Christian Barner and Catharine Frazier. Amanda married, at the age of 26 John Ellis Furst, age 29, son of Frank B. Furst and Rebecca Elizabeth Brungart, on Wednesday, 26 September 1888 at Clinton County, Pennsylvania. She died on Saturday, 19 September 1908 at the age of 46 years and 2 months. She was buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Cedar Hill, Lamar Township (near Mill Hall), Clinton County, Pennsylvania.
