She was the daughter of Fred Amon Harman and Mabel Clara Kreitz. Margaret married John Franklin Ault, son of John F. Ault and Mary J. [?], circa 1948. She died on Thursday, 23 July 2009 at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 14 days at her home at Wake Forest, Wake County, North Carolina. She was interred on Saturday, 25 July 2009 at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, Wake Forest, Wake County, North Carolina.
