Jared Christian Barner was born on Sunday, 13 February 1842 at Loganton, Greene Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Christian Barner and Catharine Frazier. Jared married, at the age of 23 Margaret Alice Harter, age 19, daughter of Samuel Harter and Mary Wolf, on Thursday, 9 March 1865. He died on Tuesday, 14 July 1914 at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 1 day at Mill Hall, Bald Eagle Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. He was buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Cedar Hill, Lamar Township (near Mill Hall), Clinton County, Pennsylvania.
