He was the son of Harvey Clayton Lupold and Carrie Mae Barner. He died due to spinal meningitis on Thursday, 3 May 1945 at the age of 17 years, 3 months and 26 days at Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was buried at Watsontown Cemetery, Watsontown, Delaware Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.
