He died on Sunday, 9 July 1978 at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 29 days at Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. He was buried at Tylersville Reformed (Union) Cemetery, Tylersville, Logan Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania.
