He died He was shot is the head while in the performance of his duties as Constable. on Thursday, 5 March 1896 at the age of 37 years, 2 months and 19 days at Woodward Township, Pennsylvania. He was buried at Union Cemetery, Woodward, Haines Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania.
