     William John Messner was born on Thursday, 9 February 1893 at Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Daniel Edward Messner and Fannie Jane Kulp. William married (1), at the age of 18 Mary Alice Knauff, age 20, daughter of William Nelson Knauff and Mary Alice Barner, on Monday, 18 September 1911 at Porter Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He and Mary were divorced. William married (2) Ruth E. Rimmey, daughter of William Thomas Rimmey and Mary Harrison, before 1942 at Pennsylvania. He died on Thursday, 24 May 1962 at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 15 days at Jersey Shore Hospital, Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. He was buried on Monday, 28 May 1962 at Jersey Shore Cemetery, Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
