Sarah Malinda Barner was born on Saturday, 20 July 1861 at Rote, Lamar Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of David Barner and Wilhelmina Stock. Her nickname was Sally. Sarah married, at the age of 23 John Sampson Paul, age 26, son of John Joseph Paul and Susan Kerstetter, on Thursday, 15 January 1885. She died on Tuesday, 2 July 1935 at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 12 days at Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. She was buried at Highland Cemetery, Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania.
