Jesse James Barner was born on Friday, 18 December 1891 at North Bend, Chapman Township, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Albert Barner and Elizabeth Sofronia Rhoades. Jesse married, at the age of 27 Laura Mae Shirk, age 18, daughter of George Shirk and Anna Berdler, on Friday, 24 January 1919. He died when he was hit by a train on Tuesday, 1 June 1937 at the age of 45 years, 5 months and 14 days at North Bend, Chapman Township, Pennsylvania. He was buried at North Bend, Chapman Township, Pennsylvania.
