Emily married Lawrence D. Phleger. She died on Sunday, 16 April 2006, Easter Sunday,, at the age of 92 years, 9 months and 8 days at Locust Grove Nursing Home, Mifflintown, Fermanagh Township, Juniata County, Pennsylvania. She was buried on Wednesday, 19 April 2006 at Oval Cemetery, Oval, Limestone Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.
