     Bethel Ray Hurst was born on Friday, 9 January 1914 at Jamestown, Tipton County, Tennessee. He was the son of John Wesley Hurst and Dora Belle Taylor. Bethel married, at the age of 24 Mary Jane Ulsh, age 20, daughter of James Lowell Ulsh and Blanche Viola Harruff, on Sunday, 20 November 1938 at Caledonia, Marion County, Ohio. He died in February 1987 at the age of 73 years.
