     Dorsey Barner Gruver was born on Sunday, 31 October 1909 at Dubois, Sandy Township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Frank Gruver and Florence Amanda Carrie Barner. Dorsey married, at the age of 22 Melva Bailey, age 20 on Saturday, 6 February 1932 at New Kensington, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He died on Monday, 10 August 1998 at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 10 days at Providence Medford Medical Center, Medford, Jackson County, Oregon.
