Earl Thomas Barner was born on Monday, 3 July 1905 at Hublersburg, Walker Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Thomas Jefferson Barner and Ida Bernice Johnson Garrett. Earl married Sarah Catherine Caldwell, daughter of William H. Coldwell and Mary C. Hall. He died in an automobile accident on Tuesday, 21 March 1967 at the age of 61 years, 8 months and 18 days at Bellefonte, Centre County, Pennsylvania. He was buried at Zion Cemetery, Bellefonte, Centre County, Pennsylvania.
